The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has released the 2026 June Ordinary and Advanced Level examination results, with the Ordinary Level pass rate declining while Advanced Level candidates recorded an improved performance compared to last year.

Announcing the release during a media briefing in Harare, ZIMSEC Board Chairperson Professor Paul Mapfumo said candidates could begin accessing their results online through the ZIMSEC portal from 6:00 pm on 3 August 2026, with the online platform remaining open for five days.

"The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council Board and Management would like to advise the nation of the release of the 2026 June Ordinary and Advanced Level examination results. With effect from today, 3 August 2026 at 6:00 pm, Ordinary and Advanced Level examination results will be accessible to all candidates and authorised personnel online through the ZIMSEC portal accessed via the ZIMSEC website. Please take note that this portal will be open for five days only," said Prof. Mapfumo.

The June examination results show that the Ordinary Level pass rate for candidates who sat for five or more subjects fell to 3 percent, down from 5.87 percent recorded during the June 2025 examinations, representing a decline of 2.87 percentage points.

In contrast, Advanced Level performance improved significantly, with the pass rate for candidates who obtained at least two subjects at Grade E or better rising to 67.74 percent, an increase of 11.88 percentage points compared to the June 2025 examination session.

Professor Mapfumo also announced that heads of examination centres could begin collecting printed results for their respective schools and centres from ZIMSEC regional offices starting 4 August 2026.

"Heads of examination centres will be able to collect the results for their respective schools and centres from ZIMSEC regional offices beginning Tuesday, 4 August 2026," he said.

The June examination session mainly caters for repeat candidates seeking to improve previous grades, as well as other eligible candidates who register to sit the mid-year examinations.

Candidates have been encouraged to access their results within the five-day online window or obtain official result slips through their respective examination centres.

The release of the results marks another milestone in Zimbabwe's examination calendar and is expected to pave the way for successful candidates to pursue tertiary education, vocational training and employment opportunities.
