The Midlands State University community yesterday gathered at the Zvishavane Campus for a public lecture focusing on the role of humanities in driving industrialisation.

The event, organised by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, was attended by staff, students, and university executives. Guest speaker Dr. Latifi highlighted that industrialisation goes beyond technology, describing it as a multi-dimensional process that includes culture, values, and education.

He emphasised that universities play a key role in shaping future policymakers and advising national development through research and academic engagement. Dr. Latifi also called on scholars in the humanities to actively contribute by promoting discipline, productivity, and innovation.
