Senior officials at the Gweru City Council have signed performance contracts, committing themselves to improved service delivery and accountability during a ceremony held on March 20, 2026.

The signing ceremony brought together Heads of Departments, Directors and Assistant Directors, marking a shift towards results-based management aimed at enhancing efficiency and responsiveness to residents’ needs.

Town Clerk, L. Churu, warned that non-performance would not be tolerated, describing it as a serious offence that undermines national development and delays critical service delivery. He urged officials to take their responsibilities seriously and deliver on their mandates.

Mayor M. Chivhoko emphasized the importance of unity and teamwork, encouraging council leadership to remain focused as they work towards building a better city for residents.

District Development Coordinator T. Mudadigwa highlighted Gweru’s status as the Midlands provincial capital, calling on officials to lead by example and ensure consistent, quality service delivery.
