Gweru Dams Record Healthy Levels After Recent Rains

The City of Gweru has reported healthy water levels across most of its major supply dams following the recent rains.

‎Figures show that Gwenoro Dam is currently at 105.75 percent, while Amapongokwe Dam stands at 101 percent, both exceeding full capacity. Ngamo Dam has recorded the highest level at 110 percent, indicating strong inflows into the city’s water sources.

‎However, White Waters Dam remains below capacity at 71.28 percent, despite recent improvements.

‎City officials say the improved dam levels are a positive development for water security in Gweru, though they continue to monitor the situation closely, especially in light of ongoing rainfall and the risk of flooding in downstream areas.
