Seventeen universities from across the country competed in the games, which ran from the 24 to 27 April, 2026. Sporting disciplines included volleyball, netball, karate, cricket, pool, handball, and Paralympic events.
Midlands State University stood out, scooping a total of 73 medals — 26 gold, 22 silver, and 25 bronze. The strong showing highlights the university’s commitment to excellence in sport.
The results mean that teams which secured gold and silver medals have qualified to represent ZUS at the upcoming Zimbabwe Tertiary Sport Games.
The national games will take place from the 6th to the 9th of May, 2026, and will be hosted by Harare Polytechnic.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, ZUS President, Mr Olivah Guvuriro, urged teams to step up their preparations.
