Zimbabwean Paralympic gold medallist Elliot Mujaji has completed his 16-day “Walk of Hope” from Bulawayo to Harare, as part of a fundraising campaign.

The initiative aims to raise one million US dollars for the construction of a sports complex in Zvishavane. The campaign, launched on March 14 at Bulawayo City Hall, saw Mujaji and six others travel across the country to promote youth development and inclusion in sport. Mujaji says the project seeks to create opportunities for young athletes, including those living with disabilities.

The planned facility, to be developed as a Centre of Excellence and Youth Sports Academy, is expected to provide training infrastructure for youths, particularly in rural and mining communities. The walk is part of ongoing efforts to mobilise resources towards the construction of the sports complex.
