Speaking during an interview with MSU Radio, Executive Dean Engineer Nyathi said the faculty’s strategic focus is centred on innovation, ensuring that research outcomes are transformed into products and services that contribute to Zimbabwe’s socio-economic growth.
“Innovation is the primary pillar of our faculty. We are committed to producing research that addresses national challenges while creating solutions that can be commercialised to benefit communities and industry,” said Engineer Nyathi.
Engineer Nyathi said the faculty also places strong emphasis on community engagement, encouraging students to work directly with communities to identify challenges and develop practical, sustainable solutions.
“Our students engage with communities, understand the challenges they face and apply engineering knowledge to develop solutions that improve people’s lives. This practical approach prepares graduates who are ready to make a meaningful impact,” she said.
She added that the faculty continues to strengthen partnerships with industry to ensure graduates possess relevant skills required in an evolving technological landscape.
Meanwhile, prospective students have been encouraged to apply for the Midlands State University August intake through the university’s online application platform.
