A 42-year-old Silobela man has been arrested in connection with a murder case that occurred at Mkanyeni Business Centre on April 24.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the arrest of Sikhumbuzo Dunjani following the death of 21-year-old Hillary Manyevera.
Police say the incident happened at a local bar after a fight broke out among patrons. Manyevera reportedly attempted to intervene and stop the altercation when the suspect allegedly grabbed a knife from a nearby braai stand and stabbed him once on the back.
The victim sustained a deep cut and was rushed to Kwekwe District Hospital where he received treatment and was later discharged.
However, police say his condition deteriorated shortly after, leading to his transfer to Gweru Provincial Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Investigations into the matter are continuing.
