The Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed the arrest of a 28-year-old man in connection with a stock theft case that occurred at Mbombela Village in Silobela on March 24, 2026.
The suspect, identified as Ryan Pondamakara, allegedly stole 10 goats from two complainants while driving a Toyota Fortuner. Police officers on patrol intercepted the vehicle, prompting the suspect to attempt a getaway.
According to police, the suspect’s escape was short-lived after he lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the road and landed in a ditch. He was subsequently apprehended at the scene.
All 10 stolen goats were recovered from the vehicle, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
