Masvingo Provincial Police Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the development, saying the body was recovered trapped between tree roots and was identified through Siziba’s clothing and wristwatch.
Siziba had last been seen on March 6 at Matibi Business Centre, where he was reportedly drinking beer, before he was swept away while attempting to cross the flooded river. His wife, Shorai Zheke, had earlier left for a church service in Chapwanya Village.
Authorities continue to warn the public against crossing flooded rivers, especially during the rainy season, as such incidents remain common in parts of southern Zimbabwe, including Mwenezi District.
