The initiative, being conducted under the theme “Campus Care: Your Health Matters,” offers a range of free health screening and awareness services designed to support the wellbeing of university employees. Services available at the clinic include blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, body mass index assessments, health counselling, and lifestyle education.
In a notice issued to staff, Deputy Director of Health Services, Dr B. Gudu, emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare and regular health check-ups.
“ This wellness clinic provides an opportunity for staff members to understand their health status and take proactive steps towards maintaining healthy lifestyles. We encourage all employees to participate and make their health a priority,” said Dr Gudu.
The wellness programme forms part of the university’s broader commitment to creating a healthy and productive working environment for its staff and promoting a culture of preventive healthcare within the institution.
Health practitioners at the clinic are also providing information on nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and other lifestyle factors that contribute to overall wellbeing.
The Department of Health Services has expressed hope that the initiative will encourage staff members to adopt healthier habits and seek medical attention early when health concerns arise.
