Finance Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube has urged the public to be patient as government works to implement recently announced fee reductions, saying the changes require legal processes before taking effect.
Speaking at a post-Cabinet briefing this week, Ncube explained that while the reductions have been approved, they cannot be enforced immediately as existing laws must first be aligned through the amendment and issuance of statutory instruments.
He assured citizens that the decision will be implemented once the legal framework is complete, emphasising that the government remains committed to the reductions and is not reversing its position.
