According to a memorandum from the Midlands State University Marketing and Communications Office, the exhibition aligns with this year’s ZITF theme, “Connected Economies, Competitive Industries,” which encourages institutions to promote innovation, industrialisation, and the commercialisation of research under the Education 5.0 framework.
The Mini Expo is expected to help identify the most impactful innovations that will represent Midlands State University at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair later this year.
Speaking to MSU Radio News, the Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Dr Viola Matunhu said solar dryer innovation from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities designed to help communities preserve tomatoes and reduce food waste during periods of abundance was inspired by research that revealed significant losses of tomatoes during harvest seasons.
